Look at that, Schwerin- May 26, 2026

Moin Freunde und Familie! Ich bin seit zwei Wochen in Hamburg gewesen. Diese Woche war es sehr heiss draussen. Aber es war sehr toll, weil wir nach Schwerin gegangen sind! Surprisingly, the German isn't progressing terribly for teaching half of our lessons in English.  Greetings all, this week was rather wonderful in our own little slice of Ghana. Since I have more time this week, I will revert back to a similar formula to that of my MTC emails. Although, rather than something from every day, I will share a couple of stories from the week in general. Then, am ende, I'll leave a little summary of my thoughts and experiences so far, and if all are in agreeance, I believe we can begin... Schwerin: For an absolutely beautiful start to the week, last P-Day we took a two hour train ride out of our area to visit the lovely town of Schwerin. If you've never heard of it, fear not, I never had either, but it is an absolutely adorable city about halfway between Hamburg and Rostock. Th...

Cozy, but not quite Comfy - May 19, 2026

Guten Morgen alle!  Apologies for the gap in correspondence, I was unable to send an email due to my travels, and what laborious travels they were. But, even if I didn't get any sleep for 30+ hours (we lost count) and it was the most boring/dreadful flights of my life, at the end, I found myself in Germany. Which is a fairly decent compensation.  Last Week in MTC: Our last week in the mtc was so much fun, we attended our last classes with our amazing teachers, enjoyed the last food we didn't have to prepare for a while (we get no member meals here) and we got to hang out with all our friends a ton. The highlights included, a Duck Donuts party during miracle time, pizza after the temple (ifykyk), and going to the field on our last day for spike and volleyball. Though we enjoyed these times, everyone, except me, seemed extremely excited to get to the field.  Reality:  There has not been before, or since, a harder day on this mission than saying goodbye to all of...

I think that was the bridesroom - May 6, 2026

The Altos   Chess Thanks, mom Servus, This last week was by far the most eventful we have had at the MTC so far, and conveniently I can't remember much of anything. But, the biggest change is I got two new companions this week. To cut a rather long and prolonged story short, my original companion, Elder Biesinger, decided that he had had quite enough of us, and last Friday met with the first counselor in the MTC presidency and switched companions, rooms, residence halls, districts, branch, everything. The most interesting part however, is that we honestly don't know what compelled him to do so. This is because we would simply not communicate with me or the district leader ever. All that I knew was that he was struggling, and that often his disdain was directed towards me. Even so, I tried my best every day to carry a cheery disposition, as these last two weeks he only ever spoke to me to chastise me, contradict me, or yell at me to be somewhere. Furthermore, I did my absolute b...

Take Up Thy Bed and Run - April 29, 2026

Hallo, Es ist die dritte Woche beim MTC, und mein Deutsch ist noch scheclt. Case and point right there I guess. I apologize in advance, I have only a little time to write today, but I will do the weekly debrief.  Wednesday: I feel I forgot to mention the glaring fact that we saw a burning car outside the Timp temple last p day, attached is a video if it will load. Literally a gta lobby around here i guess. Also a pleasant update is that my tooth is strong and won't be falling out anytime soon. Also, this was the day after which this email was named. For the first time since February, I was able to run. One whole lap, so the knee is better after all.  Thursday: The highlight was our European area training meeting (all European missionaries in attendance) where we watched a stirring clip of Elder Hollands testimony on the book of Mormon. It was incredibly powerful and inspired me to study elder hollands talks, I believe I'm nearing twelve listened to so far. Though I must...
